The Mill
The
mill is set in beautiful surroundings, calm and peaceful and a
real haven for people who want to get in touch with nature and
also want to escape the hectic pace of normal life.
History
The
mill was built around 1550 and was one of the first buildings
to be part of the village of La Bastide Clairence, originally
a flour mill. Luckily the view and surroundings have not changed
much, probably from the time it was built.
Surroundings
Set
just 3 minutes' drive from the village of La Bastide Clairence
and in the hamlet of Pessarou, the river Arberoue runs through
the mill's 5 acres of land. The area is very peaceful and you
will discover lots of amazing flora & fauna around you and
lizards darting along the patio area that leads out to the island
where the river splits the land. Here you can try your hand at
fly fishing to catch a trout to cook on the barbeque that evening,
see vultures, Golden Eagles and other birds of prey soaring the
thermals above you. We
cannot stress enough how relaxing and beautiful the surroundings
are.
