Description
of the Mill
Moulin de Pierretoune, built in 1550, has 4 bedrooms all with
views over the surrounding countryside and river, bathroom, a
large living/dining room with fireplace, kitchen and utility/shower
room. The living room leads out onto a large terrace overlooking
the river and lovely wooded gardens. The most striking thing about
the location is the quiet with no traffic noise whatsoever. There
are 5 acres of riverside gardens with sandy banks perfect for
picnics.
The
house sleeps 7 to 8 people with 3 double rooms and a twin room
(single bed with pull-out bed below). There is also a cot and
highchair available as well as a pushchair. Bedding and towels
are provided and are changed weekly.

CHALET
RENTALS
Description
of the Wooden Holiday Chalets
Our
project for Summer 2010 is to have the chalets renovated, furnished
and ready for holiday rentals. The chalets are situated on raised
land separate and away from the mill, just above the river with
stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Each chalet has
a verandah with table and chairs, a small kitchenette, living
room and separate small bedroom and a shower room/wc. Each chalet
will have its own BBQ. The chalets will be furnished in a contemporary
style with a similar feeling to the house. By May 2010, we hope
to have 4 of the chalets available for rental - by the following
year, all 6 chalets will be available. In the middle of these
chalets, we will have a stylish, heated 10 x 3 swimming pool with
wooden deck area and sun loungers. Bookings are now possible.
Photos available soon.

What
to do
Surfing is one of the main reasons to go to the Basque region,
it has arguably the best surf in Europe and in summer the water
is warm enough to surf without a wetsuit. The sandy beaches are
perfect for families. In winter, the Pyrenees are easily accessible
with the nearest ski resort only 1 hour away. But because the
house is on the river, canoeing, walking, fly fishing and cycling
are the easiest way to enjoy the amazing scenery around the house.
Take a look at our extensive activities
pages.
The
Basque region is also arguably the best region for gastronomy
in France with one of the differences to certain other regions
in France being that you get service with a smile!
